About the Cookoff

10% of the proceeds from our event will be donated to the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls.

The event will include local restaurants, businesses and neighborhood cooks competing against each other for the title “BEST Mac-n-Cheese in Chester County”.  The community will be asked to pay an entrance fee to sample each participant’s dish. The public will be limited to one tasting per contestant until voting ends at 3pm.

Each voting attendee will be provided with 3 tokens to vote on his/her favorite dish(es) and voting will take place in a single location, NOT at the competitors booth

A panel of judges will judge each mac-n-cheese dish, as well as the community will vote for People’s Choice and Kid’s Choice winners.

Raffles / Auctions

100% of proceeds from our artwork raffle will benefit the Lord’s Pantry. The artwork is an original Adrian Martinez oil painting (14″x18″ on canvas) named “Mac & Cheese meets Chinese”. The painting may be viewed on our Facebook page and will be viewable by the public at the Downingtown Fine Arts Festival. Raffle tickets are available at Creekside Antiques and Love Street Vintage Furniture in Downingtown. Tickets will also be available at the Art Festival on Saturday May 27th as well as at the Cookoff on June 4th. Additional prizes are included in the raffle offering.

Event Details

Last year, we supported several new projects in addition to our eleven annual projects: Chester County Futures; Caln Police Department for National Night Out; Hosting an exchange student from Spain; Dr. Solon 5K Memorial Run for Bradford Heights Elementary School; Providing eight computers and accessories to girls club in Coatesville; Pennsylvania State Police Camp Cadet; West Bradford Elementary School’s “watchdog” program; Beaver Creek Elementary and East Ward Elementary Gaga Ball Courts; and assistance with completing the Kerr Park gazebo renovations.

The idea of the Chester County Mac-n-Cheese Cook-off originated from the idea of holding an event that promotes the use of local food products and encourages sustainable agriculture, while bringing awareness of what’s available in the public’s backyard. We hope to have a lot of FUN and raise money for Rotary Initiatives. We encourage our cook-off participants to visit our local artisans/farms to include local artisan’s products in your tasty dish!

Adult Tickets are $10.  Kids ages 6-12 are $5.

We strongly recommend you buy your tickets in advance as ticket sales will be limited again this year. Only 1250 tickets will be available. They may be pre-purchased online at Eventbrite or in person at the Fine Arts Festival on May 28th and May 29th.

Parking is available on the street near the event, in the parking lot on Pennsylvania Avenue and inside Kerr Park.  If there is excessive rain leading up to the event, the parking lot on Pennsylvania Avenue will hold our event and will be closed to public parking (except for handicap parking).

Depending on the weather and the turnout, competitors may run out of mac & cheese.  Make sure to come early to taste all of the competitors tasty dishes!

Bring your I.D. if you plan on enjoying the La Cabra Brewing beer garden.

Park policies have changed. We are now allowed to bring your furry family members to the Cook-off!

Ten awards will be provided: 1st, 2nd and 3rd places to Judge’s Choice, People’s Choice and Kid’s Choice. A new award, Best First Time Competitor has been added. Our 1st place winners will be awarded $200. Competitors are allowed to win multiple prizes. Winners can still elect to have this cash prize donated in their name to a non-profit of their choice.
